He bagged a Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State in 1998, became a registered Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers in 2010 and a Registered Engineer in year 2012 (Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN) and had his Masters in Environmental Management, University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Engr Salami Jamiu Olayinka joined the Lagos State Civil Service in May 2008 as a Mechanical Engineer I on grade level 09. He had worked in various Ministries and Agencies such as Ministry of the Environment (2008 – 2013), Lagos Waste Management Authority (2013 – 2016) and Ministry of Works and Infrastructure (2016 – 2019) before his deployment to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) in December 2019 and currently the Head of the Agency’s Sophisticated and heavy duty Equipment hub, Eagle Base, Cappa.
Engr. Salami was an Ad-hoc research member on ‘Lagos Waste Characterization Study’ in November 2015, a Panel Member on ‘Evaluation of Eko-UP Project’ in July 2015, research member on ‘Lagos Waste Generation per Capita study’ in June, 2016 and also a Committee member, ‘Preparation of Mass Fatality Response Plan for Nigeria’ in October 2021.
Engr. Salami Jamiu is a member of Nigeria Institute of Mechanical Engineers and is happily married with children.
